Sustainable Life Vs Enjoyable Sustenance

by Robert L. Gisel

“vital (vit'l) adj.

1.Of or characteristic of life: vital processes.

2. Necessary to the continuance of life; life sustaining: vital functions...”

Having money, a regular and predictable income of, is necessary and even vital to one's life. That goes without saying, until it comes to leaping off a regular job into a new activity.

For the establishing entrepreneur, the self employed, the artist, the innovator, this may seem unfortunate or inopportune. Even the most worthy of non-profit organizations require an an input to its finances and more so to its start-up phase. Whether it begins with one's own stash of funds, pay-as-you-go cash flow funding, OPM (other people's money), a line of credit, venture capital, even charity or good will there will will be money involved.

It has been proposed on several blog sites that working at a “day job” just for money and particularly where this does not fulfill one's dreams and desires for happiness is a dead-end road. Yet without the vital regular income to keep putting food on the table one cannot live at all. Witness the homeless bum with his hand out.

Money is an energy and energy is required for any motion or activity. Whether it comes in Dollars, Pounds, Yen, gold, uranium or a carton of eggs there has to be an exchangeable value. This is what motors the world. That's our universe.

Unlimited excesses and huge abundances of capital supposes far more funds than could be consumed in the next great project. Unless you have already produced such or inherited it you are still left with the searing question: how much money do you have to have in order to acquire a world of freedom and joy where having enough money is no longer even a passing consideration?

The answer to this varies condiderably as each person's desires and circumstances are individual. Once a hypotheses of mine that there could be a set formula for funding requirements for an initial business activity, I was expecting a neat and handy service for business consulting. But the period in the red is different for each business. Not accounting for enough time in the red can be the death toll of a new activity. Just witness this factor in the high rate of new business failures.

So if you don't want to be a slave to an employment only tolerated lest you go homeless or starve, what do you do?

Be a deaf, dumb, blind kid that sure plays a mean pinball.

I joke, but seriously, it has truth to it: you have to be a wizard at something. In some way you have to create a phenomenal proposition.

You don't have to a demi-god but you do have to propose something exceptional. If not, you can learn and learn well enough to set your something apart from other somethings. Short of that you can always piggy-back onto the genius of others and find a unique or overlooked zone to franchise another's already created wealth builder.

Find the uniqueness of what you love to do. What makes it different? What lights your bells and makes you feel alive? What is all-out fun for you? That you should contemplate how to do for a living, and program out the steps to get there. The simpler and more direct the approach the better.

If it is a dream worth having it is a dream worth going for for all it is worth.

Time versus money.

Could you live on $10,000? $10,000 a year? Only if you can live on $833 a month.

It is said that you should have enough in reserves to cover your expenses for 6 months in case you lose your job. Six months might not be enough. Where it takes longer to get a job or the income you are expecting to make takes longer you'll need more reserves. Still, ruthlessly taking a percent off the top of every paycheck and setting aside to build such reserves, well aside where you are not tempted to spend it, is a good plan. Create a cushion for your future.

Bills will come in, rent needs to be paid and you must have money for food and the routine costs of living, weekly or monthly. You can spend less, but only to a point. Nice-to-have expenses can be foregone but not essentials. Sustainable life happens when you have adequately more income than the monies that must go out.

There are ways to establish a side income or residuals that do come in timely enough to keep the monthly expenses covered. Then following ones dreams is not only feasible but lends happiness in the doing. Working for yourself at what you love is very fulfilling. Keep plotting at that until you achieve success.

Do that well and you will win the hundred yards. But don't give up your "day job" until there's sufficient money to sustain yourself while the main game catches up. Living on the street might be adventurous, but it isn't fun.

How To Proximate Genius Thought

by Robert L. Gisel

The mechanical way to mental genius is said the to be the act of entrainment (synchronization). The big question is, which comes first, the chicken or the egg.

One definition in Wikipedia is thus: Brainwave entrainment, the practice of entraining one's brainwaves to a desired frequency.

Scientific research on this by Dutchman Christian Huygens in the 17th century is now called "brainwave entrainment", "whole brain synchronisation", "Psychonautics", meditation and so on and so forth. Today's focus on this sector is through, or as, Neurology. Herein enters the chicken or the egg question. Mental function, or brainwaves; which is cause?

The Neurology line labels the wavelengths immolating from brain function as Alpha, Beta, Theta and Delta as determined by their respective hertz bands. The idea, then, is to induce the wavelength and voila! you get the genius thought of Theta waves. Enter Huey Louis singing "I want a new drug...".

You can crash a computer's functioning by many clicks on the same button command, but it takes an intelligent person to do this, or stupid person as the case may be. The structure of the the computer only responds to the live command given it in the outset by a living being.

Mental function is life force. The elan vital, the soul, the spirit, free thought, call it what you will. It's you, the being, that which is alive.

More important it is you, the energy production unit. Herein lies the key.

Not much energy comes out of a body that is tired and hungry. But then, you are not your body. You are an independent spiritual being. If you have become dependent on the body, think you are the body, these may obfuscate the issue. That's okay, it's politically correct -- politicians do this all the time (joke).

Energy production requires only a base holding two poles in proximity and a difference of potential, whereby you can connect the poles and a an energy flow occurs. That you, the energy production unit, can do this is a different view.

The proof is empirical in a simple test you can perform anytime. Position yourself in front of an object about one foot away from your eyes. Focus on a dot on the object. Get the idea of connecting to the object, from where you are viewing to the object, like a continuous rod. Do this until you sort of "feel" the connection. Then drop it. Just get the idea there is no connection. Then put it back, the energy beam that connects to the object. Drop it, put it back, keep that up, back and forth. You'll find this starts to alternate faster. Go with it. After some bit of this you will experience a buildup of energy. You will feel an energetic state of being. The environment will glitter alive with energy. You have just created, out of nowhere, alternating energy.

If one were to measure the hertz of the brain waves at this point one should find the finer wavelengths associated with genius thinking.

It wasn't your brain connected to the object. That's you, and that's an actual energy beam that you created, essentially out of thought. The best discourse of this is in a book Scientology 8-80 by L. Ron Hubbard where he discusses theta and energy production. This is the object of the elusive and failed "perpetual motion machine" searches. We didn't come from matter. Matter and energy came from us. Thus came the chicken and the egg.

Try the exercise above. Then let me know what your experience is with this.

Peace on Earth and Goodwill Towards Men

by Robert L. Gisel

Those spiritual words, Peace on Earth and Goodwill Towards Men, oft repeated characterize virtues we could use a lot more of around the globe.

It takes an abundance of trust and high ability to grant beingness to others, to always embrace the benevolence, generosity and greatness to rise above baser emotions that wear on one and taunt like response.

When you would seem to be egged into a needless confrontation you would be advised to have no fear, look it in the eye, take a deep breath, count to 10, or whatever works for you to not bite when bitten. Yet in the world there are insane enemies sometimes about that need to be rendered ineffective to harm. These are too often themselves the unrevealed culprits the politicos and their mad dog press try to foist off on us.

The men of goodwill, those who pursue life honestly and ethically comprise 80% or more of the entire populace. This is who keeps life tenable and the life force moving forward. The Holiday spirit reaffirms this. The Hope is it will last throughout the year.

May you embrace the causes of Peace and Goodwill and be of such import yourself reaping an abundant and prosperous New Year.

How About a Legacy?

by Robert L, Gisel

The post by Chris Guillebeau of Creating a Legacy Project strikes a familiar chord. I said:

"Hi Chris,
It's interesting to me I had just posted on my ThinkTankMan.blogspot.com about creating Drive and it came out as, first you need to clarify your goals. This idea of a Legacy Project is a good way of putting it. Sometimes I think this morbid thought maybe I'm spinning my wheels only to have my most genius ideas realized after I've passed on. An army of remarkable followers is a good community to have in the here and now. I mean you wouldn't want to have an empty room at your wake!
All kidding aside, when you do something decide on a path and leap into the fray it always amazes me when I see how the physical universe starts to toe the line. Not that there aren't bumps and obstacles but the experience of having materialized something, a legacy, is a special creation.
I set up some larger legacy projects which take more than a few days to complete (I say tongue in cheek), but complete they do, a couple major plans completed (blogs, screenplays) and these others (Novel, EV Retrofit) coming along one of these days. I think my 'Take Hill 10' might be facilitated with more baby steps, like, 'Gather up the available ammo'.
Robt.

WhoWouldWrite.blogspot.com (one of my legacies)"

The idea of a Legacy Plan is really intriguing. It puts out there the long view. It encompasses the idea that one is cause over the world well beyond oneself. So true, and so worth contemplating.

How to Create Drive.

by Robert L. Gisel

(This blog is dedicated to the self development of qualities of genius.)

"1. DRIVE. Geniuses have a strong desire to work hard and long. They’re willing to give all they’ve got to a project. Develop your drive by focusing on your future success, and keep going." Dr. Barios

There is no better time than now to be an entrepreneur for one who is not allergic to work. With business layoffs of thousands and tens of thousands at a time making the news with increasing frequency more security is afforded to one who would follow his dreams in self employment.

Working ambitiously for today's corporate executives more often than not comes with the understanding that one will give his all, which usually includes many extra hours on evenings and weekends. When you look at it though, if you find yourself putting in 60-80 hours a week for your corporate boss you could put in the same amount of time working for your self with your own business with the prospect of much greater rewards.

This is not for one who is not a self-starter, has difficulty getting motivated or is simply lazy. At the same time, actively pursuing activities dear to oneself overcomes the lack of motivation that can come with enforcement to someone else's dreams. Following one's own goals creates a juggernaut of beneficial energy.

The reason that this vibrancy emerges from being on and working with one's purpose lines is as simple as how energy is produced within the laws of physics. A base that holds apart two poles, in proximity, with a difference of potential produces energy. The plus of operating from the stable datum of one's goal versus the unknowns of the problems to overcome in creation makes for endless energy creation.

A person without goals is hard to get to do anything for very long, but just as one can be enthused by a well done inspirational movie, creating along the lines that light one's bells endows a lot of life. Blunted reach or failed accomplisment, on the other hand can make one feel exhausted. Still the solution is to reafirme your goals. Start orienting your drive to that which gives you hope with several simple steps.

1) Ask yourself what do you really desire most in life?

2) What really lights your bells, what do you get excited about?

3 )Do your life activities align with this purpose?

4) What do you need to do to get more in swing with your purposes?

5) Get started doing that, even if only one small first step towards the goal.

Once you have established yourself in the right direction, setting tasks and pushing these through to a done comes more naturally. Achievement then begets happiness and the rehabilitation of life force aids success.

What Does It Take To Be Focused?

by Robert L. Gisel

"3. DEVOTION TO GOALS. Geniuses know what they want and go after it. Get control of your life and schedule. Have something specific to accomplish each day."

To be focused one first have to have goals, long term, sweeping and star-high. The lessor activities in one's life should align with that.

Determining what your dreams are you only have to look at what you desire most to accomplish. From that you can decide what path will take you there, and thence the steps you need to take. This is what dictates sequential action, tells you the things you need to accomplish daily.

Write these down where you can refer back to these points and reaffirm your direction when needed. A useful tool is to keep a journal, blank but lined pages, that can always be to hand, not hidden away in a drawer or filing cabinet. Investing a few bucks in an inexpensive leather bound journal provides a nice record you'll always want to have handy. This does much to put in the needed organization.

Persistence to a goal requires keeping one's eye on the mountain one has to climb. A myriad of day by day actions with the goal in mind is what gets one there. Write down daily tasks to accomplish. Then be diligent and self disciplined in getting done the things you have listed. Determine how much time you will take and compartment your schedule accordingly.

Will power can never be underrated. Knowing where you're headed overall is necessary to focus.

Be in Control, Take Charge

by Robert L. Gisel

"3. DEVOTION TO GOALS. Geniuses know what they want and go after it. Get control of your life and schedule. Have something specific to accomplish each day." Dr.Barrios

It is a recurring theme in comments from others on the subject of genius, this sort of envy, of the ingenuity and brilliance of the Edison or the Einstein. The truth is, it is in you, should you choose to bring it out.

A correspondent expressed a difficulty she was having, something I've observed occasionally in myself and others, getting a mind to work at all, what with all the life problems and situations one has to handle or resolve. This is something more basic than having goals and being in control of your life and schedule. This is about being in control of your mind and decisive factors.

First off, one can be distracted by having a lot of things going on at once, which is okay, but keeping and juggling so many things in one's head at the same time becomes counter-productive. Sure, that is the purpose of the mind, but you won't control anything if you can't control one thing. To control one thing you have to focus on it. Even if it's only to take hold of something out of the corner of your eye, it's a focus and thus controlling something.

Here is a short set of actions that cures the dispersal. To do be able to do these you must disappear from all distractions for about 20-30 minutes; go somewhere you won't be interrupted.

1. Make a list of all the actions in your life (or work, separately, unless they are the same) that are open actions to do.
2. Make another list of anything in your life you do not feel in control of.
3. Another list, what do you feel in control of.

You should have experienced some relief at the point, a plateau by itself. Now you can do this short set of actions:

4. Go back to the first list and highlight realistically what MUST be done as opposed to what is just nice or desirable to do.
5. Pick one of those that can be done now (not something unreal, like contact the Court Clerk at 2 AM).
6. Do it. If it appears it has necessary sequential sub-actions like a, b, c, d, do a.

After this you can start to complete actions on the rest of the first list, one by one get some things done and cross them off. At some point you can re-write the first list and it will be more real and increasingly pertinent.

Get with me after you have done the steps 1-3 minimally, or preferably after step 6. Also get with me if it this bogs down for any reason, tell me what you are experiencing and I'll address that with you. This shouldn't be the case, unless some fiasco happens like you get arrested for loitering while doing 1-3. A fiasco has a different handling.

If you can't get started on any of this, if it's all too bad, select someone to take you out back and shoot you (just kidding). Seriously, your ability to do or accomplish anything you desire is your most valuable asset. Even if you don't believe that still take the baby steps 1-6, then write to me.

No one is devoid of the 24 Qualities That Geniuses Have In Common. Some IQ geniuses have said they don't have them, which is basically poppycock, being a put down of oneself. You innately have them. If only working on one trait at a time you can enhance or enrich these traits in yourself and be the next Edison, if you so desire.
